Xavier came from humble beginnings. In the 1940s, the Xavier Society purchased a weatherboard house as a home to care for children who had suffered from polio in the early-post war years. Over the decades our structure and services evolved however our dedication to supporting children and families remains.

As we grow our multi-disciplinary team, we are always on the look-out for talented, passionate professionals to join the Xavier family. We offer a diverse range of career opportunities in nursing, allied health including occupational therapy, speech pathology, physiotherapy and counselling, as well as support work, finance and administration. We work together to provide quality services for children and young people with disabilities in Brisbane and the greater Brisbane area.

We work together to enable children with complex disability and their families to live the best lives they can. We are a proud and passionate bunch and we put our families at the heart of everything we do.

Our partners help us to deliver high quality, innovative health and disability support services in Brisbane enabling our children and their families to live better lives. We continue to work with our partners to evolve the supports and services we offer. 

In September 2019, representatives of Xavier attended the first hearing of the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with a Disability.
