In our last article of this series Therapy & the NDIS for children with a disability in Ipswich we covered the topics of what therapy is called under the NDIS, what therapies will the NDIA fund and who can provide therapy.
This week, we look further into how therapy and NDIS works for children with a disability in the Ipswich area and beyond.
How much does therapy cost?
NDIS registered providers cannot charge more for therapy services than the maximum limits of the NDIS price guide. If you are self-managed and using a non-registered provider you can negotiate rates with your providers.
How should I request funding?
Your request for therapy hours for your child should be supported by evidence based reports from the relevant professional therapists. The reports should relate to your child’s goals and demonstrate how therapy helps your child to reach their goals.
As well as the funding that you are requesting for therapy hours, consider whether you need to request additional funding for things like report writing and equipment assessments.
With our new Therapy Clinic expected to open in Eastern Heights in March 2020, it is our goal to support more children with a disability in the Ipswich area. For further info visit our Community Therapy Clinics page.
