Xavier therapy: Supporting children with disability in North Lakes

During 2020, we’ve been working to expand our therapy support services into more suburbs throughout the Brisbane region. Our Allied Health team are supporting children and young people with physical and multiple disability in the North Lakes area.

We’re a passionate and dedicated bunch of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and speech pathologists who work together to provide therapy to support so that young people with complex, physical and multiple disabilities can live better lives; be part of their communities and become more independent.

Our team are supporting children and young adults in various ways, with tailored therapy based on their goals and ability. Here are just some of the ways that we can support children and young adults in the North Lakes area.

Occupational Therapy – Our occupational therapists support children and young adults with a disability to do more of the things that they love. Occupational Therapy is about improving ability, confidence and independence in carrying out everyday activities.

Physiotherapy – Physiotherapy helps children and young adults with a physical disability to develop movement, improve fine and gross motor skills and improve strength, muscle tone, flexibility and posture. We work with children and young adults to support them to take part in the physical aspects of everyday life to the best of their ability.

Speech Therapy – Our team of Speech Pathologists work with children and young adults with a disability to support them on their communication journey to help them to communicate their needs and wants, to socialise and to be more included in their communities. We also help children with swallowing difficulties.
