Xavier Place Respite centre for children in Brisbane

As parents, we strive to encourage our children to experience new things, to build their independence and to just be kids and have some fun. For children with complex and multiple disability who require specialist care, this comes with its own unique challenges.

At our respite centre Xavier Place, our team care for children with complex needs in a relaxed and safe home-away-from-home environment. Located at Yeerongpilly, only 6km from Brisbane’s CBD, close to the Brisbane Tennis Centre and two major train stations, our guests get to hang out with others their own age and have some fun away from their parents or full time carers.

Xavier Place has 6 private bedrooms so that children have privacy when they need it as well as multiple communal spaces indoors and outdoors to socialise with friends. The Xavier Place team facilitate outings into the community so that our guests can get out and about together too.

The Xavier Place support team are trained by Xavier Registered Nurses and Occupational Therapists to provide the specialist care required for each of the children that stay with us at Xavier Place. We operate overnight wake and sleep shifts and have a Registered Nurse on call.

This means that the children that stay with us get to have fun, a change of scenery and a break from their regular routine, while receiving the care and support that they need.
