As a registered NDIS provider, supporting children in the Scarborough area, our multi-disciplinary therapy team is made up of experienced Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists and Physiotherapists. Multi-disciplinary means that we work together to get the best outcomes for the children and young people with disability that we support.
Here are just some of the ways that our Scarborough based therapy team are supporting children and young people with disability in the local Scarborough community, to improve their skills, confidence and independence.
Daily activities – our Occupational Therapists support children and young people to participate in everyday life with more confidence and to increase their independence over time. Some of the activities and tasks that we can help children and families with include dressing, bathing, toileting and transitioning between tasks.
Communication – our experienced Speech Pathologists support children and young people to communicate based on their ability, this may be verbally and non-verbally. Our Scarborough based team believe that every child should be supported to express their needs, wants, thoughts and emotions and have the opportunity to make friends and participate.
Feeding – our NDIS registered Speech Pathologists also support children and young people who have challenges with feeding. We can help children who experience challenges related to eating and/or drinking, swallowing, chewing, coughing, gagging, digesting and refusing food.
Movement – our experienced Physiotherapists support children and young people with disability to improve movement and to maintain or develop strength, flexibility and posture. We work with children and their families so that they can participate in the physical aspects of everyday life to the best of their ability.
